About Us

We Love What We Do
The O’KEIKI Baseball Club was founded in March 1984 as the brainchild of Coach Al Muramoto and Coach Sal Godoy who met when their sons played T-ball together at Frontier Little League in Cerritos, California.

The Coaches

The two shared a unique style of coaching and a real love for the game of baseball. Their desire to share this “love for baseball” with their community’s youth led to the first O’KEIKI Baseball Club clinic in the fall of 1986.

Our Humble Beginning

With the success of the first clinic and the encouragement of the participants and parents, a second clinic was scheduled for the fall of 1988 and the development of long-range goals started taking direction. O’KEIKI Baseball Club’s long range goal was to become a traveling youth baseball team.

Big Turnout

The response was overwhelming. The anticipated turnout of approximately 20 players soon grew to more than 50 players. Clinic participants were instructed in the baseball fundamentals of fielding, batting, bunting, pitching, base running and sliding, but most importantly on the O’KEIKI Principles that stress teamwork and the development of character and self-esteem.
